Natalie Baker Merrill, Mark Clark, Jenna Shearer Demir and Mary Kay Sigda counsel prospective PIM students and applicants.

From the time of first interest until enrollment, we will help you consider how an SIT education can complement your goals and guide you through the process of admission. We are happy to talk about our experience as students, teachers, field workers and staff members; about the degree, and about the profession. In fact, we believe so strongly in the value of this education, all you have to do is pose a question, and we’ll start talking.

The mission of SIT Graduate Institute is to prepare its students to be interculturally effective leaders and professionals.  In so doing, SIT cultivates a worldwide network of people and organizations that are committed to responsible global citizenship.   The PIM Admissions Blog contains information relevant to all of the PIM degrees at SIT:

    Dear counselors,

First of all marry christmas to you! You do not know how much time I spent on the internet just to make contact with you. I think I need to advance my knowhow of using the internet. Now I am happy to find you.

In SIT’s view book I read that Masters of science in management is given. I become interested of that. But, as I go through some of SIT’s sites, I got hesitated. Is MSM program given in 2008? I’ve another question. Thank you in advance from Ethiopia!

  5. Yosefa Says:

    Hello,
I am very interested in the Masters in Intercultural Service, Leadership and Management. I requested a Graduate Viewbook and received it in the mail and just sent off my completed application last week. I’ve been talking to a lot of people and they keep asking me about possible jobs in the field. I have a B.A. in Psychology, a TEFL certificate, a certificate in journalism and have participated in various programs abroad. However, I have no non-profit work experience. Do the majority of the students in the PIM program have extensive non-profit experience? I heard that many of the participants are actively working in the field and do the program at SIT in cooperation with jobs they already hold. What do you think is the likelihood of me obtaining a job related to cultural exchange programs and intercultural relations upon completion of the program? I’m looking forward to hearing your response.

    Thank you,
    Yosefa

    Dear counselors,

Hope the weather is treating you all well. I have a degree in sociology and a minor in youth studies. I will be entering the PIM program in the fall and my goal is to work with an international entity be it for proft or not ,that focus on youth work . What are the possiblities of me acquiring a job going into the the PIM program with this goal? Any recommendations of entities I should start looking at?
Also, my knowlege of international issues is adquate enough to carry on a conversation but I am little skeptical that I might be interacting with individuals who have a lot more expirence in nonproft and international work than I do. Do you have any advice that might help me prepare more.
