Have you begun an application? Want to know what’s happening at SIT with your application? Need to know what materials have been received? There are several ways to find out.
At SIT we have rolling admissions. Because SIT has no admission deadline, a decision on each application can be made shortly following its completion. Once all your materials have been received, you can expect a decision usually within one month.
Selection criteria are the same in all on-campus degree areas of the Program in Intercultural Service, Leadership and Management.
MA in Conflict Transformation
MA in International Education (On Campus)
MA in Social Justice in Intercultural Relations
MA in Sustainable Development
MS in Management
MA in Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management
In addition to our on campus programs, we offer two off-site programs that have slightly different selection criteria. Info is on the website regarding each program.
Master of Global Managment in the Sultanate of Oman
MA in International Education (Low Residency)
Once you have submitted an application, you have a variety of ways to check on your application status.
Your application to SIT Graduate Institute, continued
1. To check the status of your application and see if your transcripts have been received or if those last references have arrived, please log on to WebAdvisor. Every applicant is assigned a Web Advisor account as soon as they submit their on-line or paper application. This site is a good place to visit often. Besides finding your application’s status, you can check your financial aid application status. If you are accepted and enroll at SIT, you will also be able to use Web Advisor to check your grades, see your course schedule, and receive your bill. It is a tool that you will use throughout your SIT experience. If you have trouble logging in after you have applied, please send a note to the admissions office (see #2).
2. You can send a note to admissions@sit.edu. An admissions counselor or advisor will be able to guide you (or reset your WebAdvisor password). The nature of your question does not influence the outcome of your application. What would you like to know? Just ask!
3. You can telephone the admissions office. Between 9:00AM and 5:00PM, Eastern Standard Time, use the toll-free number 800-336-1616. To reach the admissions office directly, call +1 802-258-3510.
4. Send a fax to +1 802-258-3500.
5. Use the blog to post questions or comments. We would love to have your feedback on articles posted on the blog or questions that the posts inspire. We will try to answer them ourselves, or forward them to the correct person if necessary.
6. Join us for Virtual Open House or an Open House. Info on our Open Houses can be found here: http://www.sit.edu/graduate/2471.htm and you can register to participate here: http://www.sit.edu/graduate/inq_grad_add_oh.cfm.
We hope these are helpful hints to make your application process to SIT as smooth as possible. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Thank you for writing and for your interest in the SIT Graduate Institute.
I understand that the cost of attending school in the United States is certainly a challenge for many potential international students. SIT does offer a limited number of grants and scholarships specifically to international prospective students based upon work experience or other criteria. In addition, there are other external sources of funding available to international students. Many scholarships are based upon certain demographics and/or previous experience in a given field. I encourage you to review these web pages to see if your particular experience might apply to any of the listed scholarships.
However, to be considered for financial aid you would have to first apply to SIT. You may want to review SIT’s admissions criteria and application process. On average, most international students receive between $10,000 and $14,000 in financial aid assistance. Unfortunately, there is no way to know what forms of financial aid you would be eligible for until you have applied and provided the necessary information.
I encourage you to check our website for more information about SIT and the programs we offer. Please let me know if I may be of any assistance should you choose to begin the application process.
I wish you the best in all your endeavors.
Sincerely,
Mark Clark

I am in transition from changing from one graduate program to another. Can I apply to more than one scholarship or grant? If I do not get on campus housing, what are my options?

Hi Griselle,
You can absolutely apply for more than one scholarship or grant, and in fact most of our students do recieve a combination of funds to support their education here.
There should definitely be a spot for you on-campus if you would like to live in the dorms. If not, there are many options downtown or in the surrounding rural areas. You can generally find good housig options on Craigslist, or in our local newspaper – The Brattleboro Reformer. We also keep a housing list of respectable options here on campus, which we can email, for people who are hoping to find housing off-campus.
